nothing new

I finished the half marathon, not in the time I wanted, but I still finished.  Next up warrior dash!
I am enjoying the break in the weather and I am looking forward to the long weekend.

4 days, 10 hours, and 21 minutes....This is how long I have left until the start of my first 1/2 marathon.  Am I crazy?  Probably.  My goal time is 2 1/2 hours so hopefully next week as I write complaining about my sore feet, I will be able to say that not only did I finish the 13.1 miles I did it in the time that I wanted to.  Everyone wish me luck.
This weight contest has opened me up to trying a lot of new things.  So far this year I have completed the YMCA's triathlon challenge, Tackle the tower Cleveland (OK, so that wasn't new to me), St Malachi 5 miles run, and now this.  Then later this year I still have the Warrior dash (did this twice last year, and hope to cut my time in half this year), Johnny Cake Jog, Disney's castaway cay 5k, Tough mudder, then if I am brave enough to endure the heat the Biggest loser 1/2 marathon in August.
It's amazing how much I want to do now.  I don't really care about the weight lose but the training...weight lose is now just a perk.
Until next time,
Julie

goal for next weigh in

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I'm a few days late, but I had a very busy weekend and before you knew it, it was Tuesday night.  I am starting to have a hard time with this weight lose goal.  No I haven't hit a plateau, I have just slowly started to fall back into old habits.  I am trying my best to get back on track but I as Jillian Michaels says- trying is planning to fail, therefore I need to get back into the mind set of I am doing it!
Goal for next weigh in 147 which I know I will hit since I need to be 145.8 on the scale at work by June 6th.  June 6th is day 180 of my journey of weight lose and when I step on the scale and see that number I will have lose 30 pounds.  Then I will have 180 more days to lose my last 15.

summary of the week

This was an OK week.  I was able to go to on a two mile run on Sunday, the Y on Monday, Kickboxing on Tuesday, Kickboxing and two karate sessions Thursday, and then the 3 mile walk of dimes today.  Hopefully next week will be better exercise wise.  I slacked off a little this week since I weighed in on Tuesday since I was on call and had a good possibility of going to work on Saturday (which I ended up doing).

another week another pound

Not much to say this week.  I did a little over time each day this week so I wasn't able to make it to the Y after work (I draw the line at a 19 hour day).  Hopefully this week will be better- Tuesday is my weigh in so wish me luck.

Underwear

I need to go buy new underwear.  I realized this yesterday when I was at the Y running on the treadmill and my underwear kept scooting down.  Notice how I didn't say my pants- I fixed that problem last week by shopping in my closet for a smaller size.
So I guess you can say I am starting to feel the effects of my new lifestyle.  I am right on track.  I have lost my 5% (I am now 160.2) to stay in the contest and am now working on my 10% which means I have to weigh in at 155.5 at the next weigh to meet my personal goal.  It will be a little hard for me this month since I only have until April 23rd since I will not be able to make the April 27th weigh in and 4 days makes a big difference sometimes.
I know I can do this if I really try since I am now adjusted to my new work schedule, and have made it to the Y after work twice this week even if it means putting in a 17 hour day.  But getting the weight off is worth it.
Finally a quick shout out to my nephew Chris Warneka- CONGRATULATIONS!  He has been accepted to his dream school and will have the best 18th birthday present anyone can ask for.  He will be moving into his dorm at the University of Dayton that day.

post vacation

I just got back from vacation earlier this week and I have to say I am proud of myself.  I didn't gain any weight on vacation and I even worked out on the boat a few times.  I am not going to hit my goal of 155 tomorrow on the scale (I slacked off a little) since I will be wearing my weigh in clothes- jeans, t-shirt, and shoes....however when I weigh in on my bathroom scale I am almost there.  Next months weigh in for sure.  Slow and steady wins the race.
See everyone tomorrow.
