goal met

The first weigh in was a success for me.  I didn't lose as much as some people did, but for me it was enough.  My goal is long term and I am only aiming for 1 to 1.5 pounds a week so that hopefully I can keep it off for good this time.
I have had some difficulty this week since I switched shifts at work.  I still can't figure out when I will be able to make it to the Y.  On work days I am gone for 16 hours when all is said and done.  My goal this week is to figure out a new workout schedule even if it means only going down to the basement to walk on the treadmill after I get home.
Update about Ironman-
1.25 miles swam- 0.75 to go
63 miles biked- 50 to go
0 miles ran- 26.2 to go
not bad for week one

progress

3 days into the ironman competition at the YMCA and I have finished 20 of the 113 miles I need to bike, and 1/4 of the 2 miles I need to swim.  I haven't got any of the running in yet, but I will on Thursday.   I am relearning how to adjust to a normal schedule.  I have moved to day shift after 3 years working nights and just haven't figured out a good time to work out at the Y yet.

I wish I was athletic as my dog

My Min Pin named Hershey is the fastest dog in the house.  He very rarely sits and often has a ball in his mouth ready to play keep away.  He is always ready to go for a walk, a run around the yard, or patrol the yard of those evil squirrels.  He eats his weight in treats everyday however he doesn't seem to gain any weight.  I am nothing like him.
However my Morkie named Bear is a lot like me. He prefer the couch, the occasional stroll around the yard, and car rides to the bank where the nice bank teller Sandy gives him a treat.
This week my goal is to become a little more like Hershey and a little less like Bear, so I joined the Y's ironman competition.  I am aiming for silver (I know gold would be better but silver is more realistic) so in the next four weeks I will run 26.2 miles, bike 115 miles, and swim 2 miles.  Wish me luck.  See everyone at the weigh in.

Week 3

I don't have much to say. This was just an average week, I didn't do
outstanding (there is always room for improvement), but I didn't do
too bad either. I hit the Y 2 days, karate 2 days, kickboxing 1 day,
and will be going to bootcamp when I get off work in the morning. My
diet is always my downfall (I love sweets a little to much) but I was
good about saying away from the hard stuff...I ate a fiber one brownie
instead of the cheesecake brownie that I really wanted.

goals

The beginning of week three and I have finally decided on my goals for this "contest".

1- By my birthday, which is around the same time as this contest ends, I would like to weigh in at 135 pounds.
2- I would like to set myself up to lose those last 10 pounds by the end of October, by establishing healthier habits.
3- I want to fit into my swishy pants by the time I go on vacation at the end of March.
4- I want to fit back into my high school jeans.
5- I want to run the Castaway key 5K in less then 35 minutes.
6- I want to run the warrior dash in June in less then 40 minutes which will be 15 minutes faster then last year.
7- Start getting all A's and B's on the vitobot program.
8- Keep the weight off once it is off.

Have a good week everyone!

P.S. Yesterday was tackle the tower.  I had my personal best time of 9:35 which is 5 seconds longer then I wanted to do, but not to bad
